System notices added to Dashboard

Thursday, October 18th, 2007 - 13:03

We have added a new section to the dashboard, listing blog posts that appear in the ‘interface design’, ‘bug fixes’, ‘new features’ or ‘announcements’ categories. These posts are important to relay to users, because they will highlight changes that might otherwise be missed during the day-to-day timing activity.

These posts will be listed on the dashboard for three days after the posts were created.

Login set to 12 hours

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007 - 16:17

We have decided to remove the ‘keep me logged in for 12 hours’ checkbox at login, and simply keep users logged in for 12 hours automatically. There are two reasons for this, and they are related.

First, most users will be using adderuppa throughout a working day, or over a period of several hours, switching from one task to another, starting and stopping timers as they go. If a user forgot to check the ‘keep me logged in’ box, this would mean that the process of keeping track of time could be interupted by having to log in repeatedly.

Secondly, there is a small bug related to a user’s login status that we are aware of, and have high on the To Fix list. If a user clicks one of the ‘action’ buttons on a page ( ’start’, ‘edit’, ‘delete’, etc ), and their login status has expired, the program tries to load a whole page into that small sub-section that has been clicked, which makes for an un-pretty site. We hope to resolve this issue in the near future.
